Six Week Sessions
Our popular 6 week sessions for Aerial Silks, Princess Ballerinas & Twirl Twist & Tap are a great way to try dance without a yearlong commitment. New sessions begin all throughout the year.
Similar to the floor skills of gymnastics, it is a high energy performing art that focuses on strength, flexibility, balance and partnering work.
Adult Beginning Ballet 6-week sessions are a low-stress way to learn ballet in a relaxing environment. Great for building leg and core strength in an adult only atmosphere.
DanceWorks offers beginning and advanced level classes (Star Gazers, High Fliers & Gazelles) for children and adults in the aerial silks. Students will have the opportunity to learn on the aerial silks, dance trapeze and lyra.
Vancouver City Ballet
Under the DanceWorks umbrella, Vancouver City Ballet is thought of as Clark County’s premier program. Students range from 3 years of age with Angelina Ballerina to pre professional with pointe 5 days a week. Students have gone on to be accepted in top ranked dance colleges across the US and compete yearly in YAGP.
Contemporary dance is a genre of dance performance that developed during the mid twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe.
Each June dancers audition for spots in DWPA company to compete at; NYCDA, Tremaine, JUMP, Celebrity, StarQuest & OnStage to name a few. Dancers many also travel to Nationals & Disneyland during select years.
A mix of all our fun styles put into one class. Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, Technique and more. A great class for school dance team/cheer members to get your skills and stamina ready for the upcoming year.
Our very popular upbeat Hip Hop classes incorporate isolation movements, progressions across the floor, and complex choreography. All rooms include fun lighting and classes are broken down by age; Hippity Hop ages 4-6, Street Squad 5-7, Moves & Grooves 7-9 and Dance Crew 10+. Advanced Teen classes are also available.
What DanceWorks does best! Our Broadway style Jazz class consists of warm ups, across the floor technique, and a center combination. Different styles may be incorporated into the class including conditioning.
Lyrical dance is a style of dance created by merging ballet, jazz and contemporary dance techniques. Class is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics in the chosen song.
Musical Theater program incorporates movement, drama, and vocal training. Claire Verity & Darcy Schmitt team together to head this performing arts program. Students will work on drama skills including (but by no means limited to): improv, stage combat, theater games, and vocal. Sessions are held three times a year in Fall, Winter & Spring.
Princess Ballerina & Twirling Tutus
These beginner Ballet classes for ages 3-6 are group pre-ballet creative movement classes that, promote creative learning, lay the foundation for correct body placement and age appropriate dance technique.
Tap students start at age 3 in combination classes learning basic rhythm and tap steps. We bring in the best tap instructors from Portland. Older students may transition into a more advanced class to work on dynamics, shading, complex rhythms, and trick steps.
Twirl, Twist & Tap
Our popular Twirl, Twist & Tap combination classes combine both Ballet, Jazz & Tap in a fun 45 minute class. This is perfect for younger, first time students who are new to dance and want to try a little of everything.
Every Saturday we have a dance party just for 2-year olds! The first class is free to try so stop on by. Maybe a half an hour of dancing is just what your little guy or girl needs to get the wiggles out! Make sure to bring clothes they can move comfortably in and their dancing feet.
