Sugar Plum Tea is a fundraiser for DanceWorks Nonprofit Friends of DanceWorks. Providing scholarships to local dancers in Southwest Washington. Winter class session comprises of improv and acting games. Drama games help kids mime, create movement and help with speaking out load. Musical Theatre Spring class students work on solo audition songs. Students are able to perform these during our June showcase performance.

I’m a dancer, should I take Musical Theatre lessons?

Musical Theatre can benefit dancers in multiple ways. Dancers looking to have a career on Broadway should feel comfortable singing onstage. Dancers who can sing have more chance booking professional work in the industry. Taking group singing lessons can help build confidence, without having to sing alone. DanceWorks dancers have gone on to work in New York, LA and multiple cruise ship lines.

Do I need to take all three session?

No, students can sign up for as many as they would like. Each semester class has its own price with no registration fee. DanceWorks recommends trying a class first before signing up for all three class sessions. Each session will help students improv on a different aspect of their training. Feeling confident walking into an audition room is our number one goal. Classes will also cover proper audition do’s and don’ts for dancers. Junior or Senior students looking to audition for colleges should plan on working on their audition material.
