JAZZ DANCE CLASSES

At DanceWorks Performing Arts, our Jazz program develops confident, versatile dancers with a strong technical foundation and dynamic performance skills. Inspired by Broadway, commercial, and contemporary jazz styles, our classes help dancers build the technique, musicality, and stage presence needed to succeed both on stage and beyond.

Jazz classes begin at age 5 with our Jumpin’ Jazz program, where young dancers develop coordination, rhythm, flexibility, and confidence in a fun, encouraging environment. As dancers progress, classes include a thorough warm-up, strength and conditioning, across-the-floor progressions, turns, leaps, and engaging choreography that challenges dancers at every level.

Whether your dancer is taking jazz for fun or pursuing advanced training, our curriculum is designed to support their growth. DanceWorks alumni have gone on to study at prestigious programs, including Juilliard, Point Park University, and other respected collegiate and professional dance programs.

From first jazz steps to advanced performance, DanceWorks provides the training, encouragement, and opportunities to help every dancer reach their full potential.

Jazz Levels 1-7

Our Technique program begins at age 7 and is designed to build the strength, precision, and versatility every well-rounded dancer needs. Students progress through Levels 1–7, developing the technical foundation required for advanced training, competitions, conventions, and performance opportunities.

Each class focuses on essential dance skills including across-the-floor progressions, turns, leaps, flexibility, balance, jumps, and tricks. Dancers improve coordination, control, and execution while gaining the confidence to perform at their highest level.

DanceWorks is committed to providing students with industry-leading instruction. Throughout the year, dancers have the opportunity to train with guest artists and industry professionals from across the country, including Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, and Broadway performers through exclusive master classes and workshops.
