The DanceWorks May Showcase is our annual end-of-season production, celebrating a year of growth, dedication, and achievement. This optional performance gives dancers the opportunity to experience the excitement of performing on stage in a professionally produced show while showcasing everything they have learned throughout the season.

Designed to provide an unforgettable performance experience, the May Showcase features professional staging, theatrical lighting, and a supportive environment where dancers of all ages and levels can shine. Unlike many studios, our showcase is all-inclusive. Performance participation includes costumes, complimentary tickets for family and friends, a professionally produced 4K video recording, professional production photos, and more—allowing families to simply enjoy the experience without unexpected fees.

Whether it’s a dancer’s first time on stage or their tenth, the DanceWorks May Showcase is a rewarding celebration of hard work, confidence, and the joy of dance. It’s the perfect way to end the season by creating lasting memories that dancers and their families will treasure for years to come.

The DanceWorks Spring Ballet is our annual classical ballet production, giving dancers the opportunity to perform in a professionally staged performance that celebrates the beauty, artistry, and discipline of ballet. This optional production allows students to apply the technique and skills they have developed throughout the season while experiencing the excitement of performing on stage.

From graceful beginner dancers to advanced performers, the Spring Ballet provides a memorable performance experience in a professional theater setting with beautiful costumes, theatrical lighting, and high-quality production value. It is a wonderful opportunity for dancers to build confidence, stage presence, and a deeper appreciation for the art of ballet.

Like all DanceWorks performances, the Spring Ballet is all-inclusive. Founded in 2013 by Karen Cannon, Friends of DanceWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to dance education throughout Southwest Washington.

Each year, Friends of DanceWorks produces The Nutcracker, an optional community production open to dancers from across the Vancouver area. Recognized as Vancouver’s largest Nutcracker production, the performance features exceptional dancing, stunning costumes, theatrical special effects, and holiday magic, making it a cherished tradition for audiences every December.

Proceeds from the production directly fund scholarships that help dancers pursue quality dance training regardless of financial circumstances. To date, Friends of DanceWorks has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships, helping hundreds of young dancers continue their artistic education and achieve their goals.
